Description
This decorated human skull from the Solomon Islands dates from the early nineteenth century!
The skull is ornamented with circular-cut tridacna clam shells, which were once utilized as payment by the locals.
This extremely uncommon skull was previously part of the Prehistoria Museum collection, but it has been deaccessioned and made available to the public in order to earn funding for exhibit modifications. It was bought from a prestigious ethnographic collection in the United States and would be an excellent addition to any museum or research collection.
Previously, it belonged to well-known South Pacific tribal art collectors Löed Van Bussel and Els Verhey.
We can export this skull to respectful houses all around the world, where human osteology ownership is legal.
